Hi all,

I've been amusing myself lately with my new section: http://iberianature.com/placesinspain/

As you will see it's based on Google Maps, which is a fab and easy tool and all, but does anybody know how I progress from this to doing something snazzy like this:

http://www.verdenorte.com/mapas/mapa_din_ca.php?ca=ast

It would be great if I could sort this one out. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks

PS Is there any limit to the number of markers you can have on one map (aside from aesthetic)? When does the Google server laod start to kick in?

Google seems to be taking forever to pick this page up...used to be a matter of days.

Yes, looks good, but I can't get the data feed to work which you need to do to personalise the map. Mmmmm

Anyway, I've removed the map from the front page as it was loading slowly

There is at present one big map of Spain

http://iberianature.com/placesinspain/

which I can then decide which bit to focus on:

e.g Catalonia

http://iberianature.com/spain_culture/catalonia/

Or Barcelona

Clive,

Seems you can do category filters in Joomla

Oh this is so hard and frustrating. I'm wasting away February (is that the month) trying to work this out...

I'm here so far. Loads much quicker now but gives confusing titles to the groups. I have no idea how to progress. Hit a brick wall.

I quite like it but if you add in say three times the amount of places you wont see the map any more, just loads of red pins.... I suppose one can zoom out but for me it takes ages to load....

Thank you for the comment about Grazalema Smiley

Yes, I want lots more markers. The soluton is what they call clustering. (you group all the markers together in one area) I don't like the way the service I'm using does it but I'm in talks with a young man on a boat about improving things.
