The weekend was fantastic though a tad cold. But today, for the first time this Winter, it's snowing.

It's snowing quite heavily!!! Once a year at most...but will it stick? That's only once every 5 years or so.

I'm always amused by the difference in opinion between my wife and I.

Bob:  Hey look! It's snowing! We can make a snowman, have a snowball fight!  Isn't it beautiful!  Hope it keeps up and we get a couple of feet!   Wouldn't that be fun!

Begoña (wife): Oh no!  It's snowing! The roads will be closed!  We'll have to drive carefully!  Do we have enough food in the house?  Let's hope it stops quickly and it all goes away!

Yes, Frosty the Snowman is back in the Els Ports as well
and I've had enough of him.  Wish he would go back to Lapland.  Can we have a fed-up smiley please ?

wild conditions in Barcelona, at least at the end of Diagonal - thick swirling snow, strong winds, branches of pine trees crashing down, thunder and lightning, snow balls flying, mayhem in metro as bus service gets suspended.

Well, the snow certainly stuck in Barcelona, The heaviest fall in the city for years. I got caught in a near bliizzard on my way to a class in Pedrabes (believe me blizzard and Pedrables don't normally go together). Felt like I was making my through a mountain pass at one moment. Several inches fell in many areas. Un(fortunately) the temperature went up and most of it melted a few hours later though my class and I had time to build a rather mishapen snowman. My metro line wasn't working so I had to sludge in crap wet shoes through the melt to another line. My shoes were like buckets of water by the time I got home.

Here's a photo from the beach I found on El Pais

More great photos here http://www.elpais.com/fotogaleria/espana/nieve/Cataluna/imagenes/elpgal/20100308elpepunac_1/Zes/1

Mnay people have had a nightmare stuck on the motorway or without public transport to take them home...Buses stopped working. Uni finished early, classes in higher areas of BCN closed tomorrow, The city is clearly not prepared for such snowfalls.... 200,000 people without electricty across Catalonia

This topic that I started in fun after a jibe, long since lost to the mists of the forum database cleansing system and made many moons ago by a certain person living in Madrid who shall remain un-named apart from the fact that he has "patlets".... Is now at 23 pages and is close to thirty thousand views....... Weather? Important? Of course not... Smiley

Raining in Grazalema....... The wettest place in Spain you know

Now the winds are back blowing my fences and god knows what else down.
The one thing that the estate agents don't tell prospective buyers about is the wind.
Every person from the UK that I talk to  hates it and I know that many consider returning back to the LOG because of it.

Boring bright blue skies yet again in Madrid technodevil

Though the day started chillyish, by mid-afternoon it had warmed up considerably. And certainly not cold enough to have to wear a coat...

Any bets on Madrid weather for tomorrow, Wednesday? dancing

Greetings All,
Yet another gloriously sunny day in Madrid this week (though overcast & chilly yesterday) - perfect weather for suffering on the sidelines watching Technopatlet Nº 2 getting aplastado (En. anyone?) under heaps of visiting Portuguese rugger players - and the home team getting thrashed. At least the caldo de cocido will go down well...
