Hi peanut...

The Tietar runs into the Alcantara reservoir and joins with the Tajo river losing it's name at the area around the Torejon/Tajo dam. You can see the reservoir status at

what's the flow like for the Tietar about now?

Could you post any observations on the lakes and reservoirs topic at

Dear Peanut and Clive,

There are places on Tietar that you can swim in even in the Summer ...... well you could in 2001.

Hi Steve, Yes there are lots of swimmable bits near us, but I dont swim and Judith always finds there is a snake in the river. We usually go to the local gargantas which are damned in the summer to make swimming pools (see Roman Bridge, Los Alardos in gallery) These can be quite cold even in August, but like the Tietar have plenty of water.
