Greetings All,
Just came across Nick's excellent britainnature Website. If you haven't had a chance to have a butcher's at it, do so forthwith.

I'm not saying that I haven't bookmarked it and might well use it as a reference in the future, but my heart & what little spare time I have is for iberianatureforum

However, one article there was of particular interest http://iberianature.com/britainnature/rspb-chop-down-forest-shock/ and I was wondering if anyone knew of similar projects here on the Ib. Pen. Haberlas, haylas (En. anyone?) but I can't think of any offhand.

I particularly liked the observation made by project manager Mike Coates: “It should be the right tree in the right place. A field of barley is a field of grass, but it’s not a meadow; it’s a crop. In the same way, these are areas of land dominated by trees, but they are not woods, they are crops.”
