Following on from mickcasa2 -

Another snake which is apparently sometimes confused with "adders" or "vipers' is this Southern Smooth Snake. It is sort of understandable when you see the overall pattern and the flattened head. If you get close enough the round pupils are a give away!

I was surprised to find it a few days ago as it has been so cold here in the Alpujarras recently. Has any one else see much reptile life recently?
