Can anyone tell me what this yellow, foam-like stuff is please? It was at the base of a pine tree about 2300m on the southern flanks of the Sierra Nevada, Andalucia.

Thanks for the very swift reply Clive. I'm not convinced that I could find the exact species but I'm very pleased to know what it's common name is. Weird stuff!

You are welcome.....
The fun is in the searching...... Narrow it down by tree species that the fungus is on and also where it is geographically in the world.... Most things are already discovered for us and all we have to do is open the book to read what someone else spent a lifetime researching...... Google, of course, is annoyingly helpfull!!!!!
