Don't ask me why but I was fiddling around on the net looking at volunteer schemes... (don't tell Sue)

Came across the Iberian Wolf Recovery Centre in Portugal.

If anyone has some spare time it looks like it could be interesting...

http://www.ecovolunteer.org/

Click the species link then scroll the choose link till you see carnivores...Iberian Wolf...

That is indeed the centre I worked for 6 months (dec 2005-may 2006). Great people, great work, superb atmosphere!!! I so much want to go back and help out! If you want hands on-experience with wolves; that is the place to be.  Grin
Ambar, the wolf Steve is talking about (I have never met him) died a while ago. You can actually find out when on their website. http://lobo.fc.ul.pt/ The geneology of all the wolves in the centre is to be found in the menu of Íberian Wolf Recovery Centre'

You can directly contact the centre; you don't need ecovolunteer.org. Beste thing to do: visit the centre; try late january, beginning of february and spend the night: You will sleep in a green valley surrounded by wolves howling± best memory ever!

Anyway, I would be happy to write a little more, but have to go now. Soon more!!!
