Hi All,

This seems to be the time and place to mention my second book, published in 2007 and titled "Flying over the Pyrenees, standing on the plains". Its 15 chapters are all dedicated to some of the outstanding birds of Spain, with a focus rather biased in favour of northeast Spain, especially Catalunya. But it's not just about birds. Let me see: I think the back cover bumpf will probably do it better than I can at the moment.

"Part travelogue, part memoir, part ornithology, Steve West's engaging story of a young man seeking adventure and enlightenment in a foreign land, driven by a lifelong love of birds and nature, will by turns entertain and inform. From flying kites with larks, to necking with nightjars and soaring over the Pyrenees with Lammergeiers the author takes the reader on an intimate trip to the beautiful landscapes of Catalonia in northeast Spain, and beyond."

(Not so young anymore!)

"Flying over the Pyrenees..." was Subbuteo Natural History Book's "Book of the month" in September 2007, and was given a very good review by the Birder's Library (look it up on Google). Anyone wanting further details can look at the books section of the Birdinginspain.com  website.

Just one thing: I wrote the book for a relatively wide audience, so  hopefully you don't have to be a birder to appreciate it. Time will tell if it's seen that way.

Steve,

Shouldn't this go in the non-fiction board? Or am I reading this wrong?
