Came across this ridge the other day whilst travelling from Murcia to Granada along the motorway. It is just north of Velez Blanco in Almeria. Also remember seeing an old photo in a book showing some people roped up along it's summit ridge. Think the peak is called Maimon but I am not certain as I have no maps and Google Earth doesnt help much. Does anybody have any information about this? Looks interesting or is it just wishful thinking on my part? Photo below.

Yes, it is the MAIMON. It is a Natural Park area named SIERRA DE MARIA-LOS VELEZ.  A natural place where lives griffons, arruis and the little "sapillo moteado"... among other protected species. Butterflies ar Graellsia isabelae or Parnasius apolo can also be watched here.

Really it is a very special place to visit and enjoy.
