Can anyone identify these pretty mushrooms? They were ca 5 cm in diameter. Found last week in my garden in the shade of a cypress ( ca 5 m away). Alt. 625 m, Andalucia.

And is it edible.....?

Hmmm, Indalo, the  last suggestion looks more likely than the others. However, the photos are very different, so I think I have to look for some characteristic features.

I don't think I'll start cooking these things for a while.....Anyway, the cold weather makes them seem less appetizing....  :P

Hi, Petrea I agree with Jesús, it is Lepista nuda. We call it "Pie Azul" . I have eaten them many times and they are pretty good. Nevertheless I do not recommend you to eat a mushroom folllowing advice from anybody looking at a picture.  Remember that all the mushrooms are edible, but some of them only once...

Regards,

Iñigo

Thanks Indalo & Iñigo -

And don't worry, I usually only eat really wellknown fungi as puffballs, Coprinus comatus or Bolétus edúlis. I don't know if the 2 latest can be found here in Andalucia.
