After I saw my first Wild Wolves in Zamora, NW Spain, I visited the UKWCT (an educational trust) to see captive "ambassador" wolves.  Reading wolf books by people such as Mike Tomkins (BBC wildlife film maker, who lived in Spain for some years) and David Mech of the International Wolf Centre, Minnesota, was followed by documentary research into the status of the wolves in Europe and America and culminated in my writing a dramatic novel about the human-wolf conflict in the USA.  It's called "Bitter Enemies" and you can obtain more information and copies via the website:

I felt this book was so important for wolf conservation and understanding by our own species that when the 'market' refused it I self-published at my own expense.  Readers tell me they are waiting for the sequel, but then so am I!
