Dear members of the Iberianature forum...

Well, it has been almost 4 years since Clive (the forum techie) took over the running of the tourist information center in Grazalema, Andalucia. And, what a disaster... A project that has consumed a lot of energy, time and money. In February the contract is finished and it’s on to pastures new...  Running this office has been both a nightmare and a pleasure. During the last 4 years we have seen millions of Euros squandered on pointless "tourism" and “environmental” projects. It can sometimes be very difficult working with the Spanish and European system as many of you surely know….On the other hand it has been a good learning experience and we have had the privilege to meet many wonderful people.  Now it’s time to get back to the IberiaNature Forum, Wildside Holidays and an exciting new project with Iberianature

The new revamped website www.wildsideholidays.com is back up and running, this time dedicated to walking and nature holidays in the Sierra de Grazalema. Have a look as Sue, Eva and Clive will be offering a 10 percent discount to any iberianature forum member on the value of their holiday. So why not get together with a group of friends, come as a couple or single... Contact Clive via the forum or through Wildside Holidays.

Well, the forum is now getting on in years... Started by Nick of IberiaNature and Clive of Wildside Holidays back in 2007... There are now 27853 Posts in 3673 Topics by 681 Members. It's true things have slowed down a bit but now is the time to pay the forum a visit if you haven't signed in for a while... catch up with old cyber friends but most of all let us know what’s going on in your area...

if you’ve got environmental issues in your back yard then the forum is a great place to get other members attention and to sign any online petitions. Any good news about wildlife protection? What have you seen lately and does it need identifying?

If you are running a walking, nature or culture related business in Spain or Portugal then let people know what you are doing by adding your project to the website section on the forum.... very soon Nick and Clive will have some great news about the project they are working on together in order to promote nature related businesses in Spain and Portugal….

A very happy new year to everyone!... Keep on posting!

Hi Clive
Things are much the same in León as in the early days, gaining a few rookeries then losing a few, but on the whole, there seems a greater interest in the natural world, and a fair few voices raising concern about its treatment, which is a good thing.
regards
Dave
