Dear All
Does anybody know the name (Spanish, English or Latin) of this flower photographed in the Picos De Europa on the 18th of May 2003.
The leaves are green and spotted, I think it is a bulb, and appers, habit, very much like a cyclamen, I have attached a photo, hopefully
Thanks
Dave

I think it's a merendera.  I hardly know any plant names, but I've seen carpets of these in the mountains up north (in August/September).

hi Lucy
Thanks for the try, but I  looked up Meremdera on the net, and it is more like a crocus in habit, whereas this one has a longish stem which curves at the top and the flower hangs down, as I say quite like a cyclamen, it also appears  in spring

Hi Lucy
Just looked that one up and I reckon you are right Dog's Tooth Violet (Erythronium dens-canis) it is. Thank you very much, I will have another one shortly but at the moment I cannot find the photo.
Regards
Dave
