Staring at me it was so obvious.. :banghead:

Leon is now León...but there may be some dodgy tags out there not the same as categories...and I don't know how to edit them except enty by entry.

Hi,
You may have noticed the new header on the Iberianature site http://www.iberianature.com/

It was done by two friends of mine. The lynx is part of a painting by Maria José (Pepa) Aioz, though she's not a wildlife artist. The design is by her husband Kike who is a graphic designer. He's going to be changing some of the conifers for holm oaks in a few days.

Some of Pepa's lovely work here.

Yes there is a difference in the way IE renders the page... I generally use FF but as 60 percent of visitors to Wildside Holidays still use IE it has to look right for them as well.. And for Opera and the other browsers too... and they all render websites slightly differently.

That banner difference is Ok though it just adds a bit more background to the header in FF

Hey Lisa... Is it official now then.... :)

revved up roving reporter for the iberianature network.....

Don't you be letting Nick write less now that you are on-board. And, don't be posting less here cos you are posting there.....

Best of luck!

I understand Clive's concerns about poaching Lisa

I think we could post most things which are posted on the blog also on the forum which it what I've been generally doing anyway. That way, people get to comment on the news on the forum which is much better than on the blog - I'd like to remove comments ability anyway.

But the blog is also a good beacon to attract more people to the forum.

It's a win-win situation

Minor disaster

Google appears to have dropped the main iberianature page (though not all the subpages).

It seems to be a combination of the web being down on the last crawl and me messing with the tagline on the frontpage

Or it might just be a random fluctuation from Google.

I know I shouldn't, because Google will always work it out in the end, but I do let myself get ridiculously stressed by such events. Could take months to resolve. Or be back tomorrow...

At the moment there is an utra-safe and and ultra-ugly new tagline above the front page image

Greetings Nick and All,
In the interest of seeing whether Nick was justified in having kittens (Sp. anyone?), at 23:50 local time, had a quick Google using the word "iberianature" - took me straight to yer main page  ::)

PS.
Lisa - just noticed that I didn't congratuate you on getting "poached" by The Network - does this account for you towing the line (Sp. anyone?) so much more these days  :technodevil:

Yeah, granted - but you can imagine the brouhaha (Sp. anyone?) if yours truly had posted that same pic... :technodevil:

TP,

That's very strange as it's not listed it for me, neither on google.es nor google.co.uk

Clive informs that this may be a server issue. He also tells me not to panic which is good advice.

Greetings Nick,
Before certifying you - once and for all (Sp. anyone?) :technodevil: - I had another butcher's (10:30 local time/Sp. Google), and sure enough, this time round THE FIRST LISTING IS IBERIANATURE FORUM with no direct link to the main iberianature page.

Don't worry - I'm sure it'll be all right on the night (Sp. anyone?)

I googled "Iberianature" this a.m. and the first to come up on the list was the bear news page  :) Hope it's fixed soon though.

Clive's been on the case for me (thanks to him) and it appears to have been a server issue. In theory it's fixed and so next time Google crawls the site, it will sort itself out. We shall see.

Greetings Nick, Clive and All,
Sorry to put a downer on this one: 6 pm local time I typed in iberianature on my default Spanish Google and got the Forum again as top link - which surprised me 'cos Lisa had previously got the bears. So in the best traditions of Science I changed my default setting to English, and sure enough, got the bears. As you know, once yours truly gets 'is teeth into (Sp. anyone?) summat, he won't let go and I went off to a Catalan version which gave me Forum. From there I went to German (Bears) and to Bengali (Bears). And this is where I came a cross a major setback. The list of countries was written in Bengali and mine is a bit rusty and everything looked weird, so I took potluck. Got Greek (Bears) which is no easier to decipher, so taking potluck again, I ended up in some sort of Arabic (Bears) with everything written on the righthand side of the screen. And the same problem of how to get back to something recogniseable. Yes, you guessed it, something wonderfully exotic, which apart from giving me Bears, was equally of no use. I can assure you that potluck can get tiring and I started wanting out, and it was by pure chance (Sp. anyone?) that I ended up back at the German page, which made things easier. Conclusion: as of 6.25 pm, apart from me tea having got stone cold, all the Google pages visited, except Sp. and Ca. had produced Bears.

No, Dave. I did not try out the Double Dutch version. Be my guest.  :technodevil:
