Hi everyone,

If anyone is interested in a really indepth picture of Franco's life and the civil war up today, Paul Preston's Franco- ISBN 0-00-686210-1 is worth a read. It's 800 pages long with 200 pages of notes and index.....about 1 page for every month of Franco's rule.......it's a long book! It did help me get a much better picture of part Spain's past.....

I've heard it's very good Steve.... was a bit daunted by the length I must admit. Does it also go a lot into the Spain of his times?

Interesting structure, a page per month
Spanish Civil War Tours in Barcelona
A guide to the environment, climate, wildlife, & nature of Spain
The Amazon/Forum Bookshop - lend us a hand
And also now The Natural History of Britain

It took me ages to read! Yes it does look at Spain in a way....... It was hard work but I feel many of the questions that you ask yourself about that time were answered.....

I found the book hard going, I wanted an overview of the history, civil war etc, this book is probably gives the most in depth account of it, hard to follow, more of a study book than a good read, but each to their own as they say.
